Southampton, 06 November 2013.
Finally I got to receive my CIEEM Medal at the Institute’s annual conference on 6 November 2013 in Southampton.
The award was presented by CIEEM President John Box and the citation read out by past-President and long-time colleague, Dr David Parker.
For the keen-eyed the medal is in fact a wooden plaque; a nice piece of sustainably sourced cherry wood.
The CIEEM Medal is the Chartered Institute’s highest accolade and is awarded annually in recognition of an outstanding single or life-long contribution to the field of ecology and environmental management. In my case the citation is for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Ecologically Sustainable Sports Facilities and Sports Event Management’. For further details see the CIEEM website.
